Agricultural Clean Technology (ACT) Program

The ACT-A intake is now closed indefinitely – application intake was held from June 1-22, 2023. As of January 2024, the program has begun rendering decisions on applications. At this time, there are no plans to reopen intake for the ACT-A stream.

The Agricultural Clean Technology (ACT) Program was slotted to be a 5-year program offering funding up to 40% to support the purchase and installation of commercially available clean technologies, like our SunRangerTM Adjustable-Tilt Solar System. Eligible applicants can receive a maximum funding amount up to $2,000,000 per project and must request a minimum of $25,000.

Priority for funding will be given to projects focused on green energy and energy efficiency, as well as those showing clear evidence of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental co-benefits.

Who is Eligible?

Applicants must be individuals capable of entering into a legally binding agreement and must be Canadian entities (incorporated in Canada). Eligible applicants are:

    • For-profit organizations, including farm business and agri-food processors
    • Not-for-profit organizations, including co-operatives
    • Individuals, sole proprietors
    • Indigenous groups

What does the application process look like?

The initial application will require details regarding your agricultural operations, revenues and production amounts as well as details in relation to your proposed solar project. In addition to these details, applicants must provide proof of financing – this can be in the form of a bank statement showing current funds or a letter from the bank stating a line of credit or loan amount. Applicants are responsible for covering 60% of total project costs, however there may be other programs that you can stack with the ACT to further reduce what you pay.

This process can be quite daunting and time-consuming, which is where our team at Azgard Solar can help! Our team is well-versed in these programs and can quickly and effectively prepare your application from start to finish, ensuring the process is as straightforward as possible so you can continue to focus on your growing business!
